I shot my film yesterday, and overall think it went very well. The shoot ran very smoothly and I left myself plenty of time to shoot each scene, so was able to get all the shots I wanted to and plenty of takes for each shot. I was very pleased with the performances which the two actors gave, and they needed very little direction. As I had imagined, it was a bit difficult at times filming in tight spaces, however I managed to position the camera carefully to get around this problem.
The only slight issue I encountered was makeup, as it was difficult to get the blood and other makeup looking the way I wanted it to look, and with hindsight should have practiced this more beforehand. Having reviewed the footage, I am happy with the way it all looks. It doesn't look completely professional by any means, but it's good enough and has a horror vibe to it. The only thing which I should have been more careful about was getting the shots sharply in focus, as a few shots were slightly out of focus (although it is difficult on a tiny screen).
My next step will be to begin editing the film then get feedback on my rough cut.
